This is what we’re fighting to stop from landing in the Centre of Cambridge. Tomorrow, the Council will decide whether this towering block, a sheer 14-metre wall of brick and chimneys will replace the light, open heart of Christ’s Lane.
If approved, it will permanently scar Cambridge’s historic centre and turn one of our most loved pedestrian streets into a dark canyon. Our planning consultant has emphasised that a strong physical presence in the chamber makes a real psychological difference to the outcome. The more of us there, the harder we are to ignore.
📅 Wednesday, 29 October | 🕙 10:00 AM |📍 Guildhall, Market Square, Cambridge Please come; bring a friend, a neighbour, a colleague. This is our moment to defend Cambridge’s heritage, light, and public spaces. Every person counts. This is a cause worth fighting for.

The first permission is quashed. The second is frozen.
On Tuesday 20 October 2026 the High Court quashed the first approval, 25/02161/FUL, on all four grounds of our claim. The Secretary of State has frozen the permission. On 13 October she directed the Council not to grant it without her authorisation while she considers whether to call the application in, six days after the identical application 26/02109/FUL was controversially approved. If you would like to support a call in, write to us and we will tell you how.
