The coffee shop on Christ's Lane served customers for the last time on Sunday (October 26). A spokesperson for Starbucks commented: "We regularly review our portfolio to ensure our stores are relevant for our customers. Our Christ's Lane store closed on Sunday 26 October and we thank our customers for their loyalty over the years and invite them to find their nearest store on the Starbucks Store Locator." This 'store locator' can be found on the Starbucks website. The development comes just over a month after a branch of Starbucks opened at Cambridge Retail Park. Industrial estate could be built near busy Cambridge station Locals not confident A141 upgrades will solve congestion issues This coffee shop served customers for the first time on October 10. The first permission is quashed. The second is frozen.
On Tuesday 20 October 2026 the High Court quashed the first approval, 25/02161/FUL, on all four grounds of our claim. The Secretary of State has frozen the permission. On 13 October she directed the Council not to grant it without her authorisation while she considers whether to call the application in, six days after the identical application 26/02109/FUL was controversially approved. If you would like to support a call in, write to us and we will tell you how.
